The original painting was of a Charity walking on a summer day. Charity had talked about making other paintings with her, enjoying all four seasons. Charity never had a chance to do this, so Melinda added Charity’s painting of the girl walking into different seasons. 
Charity was Melinda Priebe's thirteen-year-old daughter, who passed away on November 3rd, 1996. Charity painted the girl walking on a summer day painting when she was ten years old. The girl is Charity's self-portrait.
